There were some excellent results for the 3 Welsh bands that competed at the Championship Section of the National Brass Band Championships, held yesterday at London’s Royal Albert Hall.
Congratulations to the Cory Band (3rd place), Tredegar Town Band (4th) and Llwydcoed Band (7th) and their respective conductors Philip Harper, Ian Porthouse and Joshua Ruck, who impressed the adjudicators with their performances of Edward Gregson’s “Of Men and Mountains”.
Thanks to Cory and Tredegar’s placings, this means that they will automatically qualify for the National Finals next year, and that 2 additional Welsh bands will be eligible to represent Wales in the 2024 event. Congratulations and well done all!
