About
Find out more about us and our team.
Brass Bands Wales was formed in 2020 with the intention of being one representative “voice” for all brass bands in Wales. This includes the whole spectrum of ensembles, ranging from Youth and non-competitive Community Bands, right through to competing bands performing at the highest levels.
The Organisation’s key aims and objectives are to promote the brass band movement in the following areas:
Advocacy and Engagement
Membership Development
Youth Development
Artistic Development
Funding & Governance
These specific topics are discussed within sub-groups that meet regularly and are open to all members of the Welsh banding community.
Meet the team
The Organisation is administered by a Steering Group of elected representatives and all have responsibilities in promoting one or more of the above key aims and objectives.
Each member brings a wealth of skills and experience from a wide range of disciplines and backgrounds including; performance, education and arts administration.
The Steering Group currently meets on a weekly basis (or more frequently as required) to discuss the running of the Organisation, whilst the aims and objectives are discussed in separate Sub-Group Meetings.
