Brass Bands Wales would like to send their best wishes to the three young Welsh brass players who are representing Wales with the European Youth Brass Band in Linz, Austria as part of the weeklong European Brass Band Championships.
Ellis Jones (Tuba), Dylan Savage (Cornet) and Matthew Slade (Baritone) will join up with players from 15 different countries in a series of concert appearances and performances promoting the Championships throughout the Linz region, under the baton of Musical Director, Karl Geroldinger.
The three musicians have had to self-fund their trips to appear with the Band, however this cost has been reduced somewhat, thanks to generous donations from; the West Wales Brass Band Association, South East Wales BBA and the Friends of the National Youth Brass Band of Wales.
In addition, Brass Band Wales will be represented at the Europeans, by the Welsh European Brass Band Association delegate and BBW General Manager, Graham Howe. Graham will be attending various meeting and activities during the Championships, and he too is having to self-fund his travel costs to attend the event on behalf of Welsh banding.

Pencampwriaethau Bandeau Pres Ewropeaidd 2026 – Linz, Austria
Hoffai Bandiau Pres Cymru anfon eu dymuniadau gorau at y tri chwaraewr pres ifanc o Gymru sy’n cynrychioli Cymru gyda Band Pres Ieuenctid Ewrop yn Linz, Awstria fel rhan o Bencampwriaethau Bandiau Pres Ewrop.
Bydd Ellis Jones (Tuba), Dylan Savage (Cornet) a Matthew Slade (Bariton) yn ymuno â chwaraewyr o 15 gwlad wahanol mewn cyfres o ymddangosiadau cyngerdd a pherfformiadau i hyrwyddo’r Pencampwriaethau ledled rhanbarth Linz, dan arweiniad y Cyfarwyddwr Cerdd, Karl Geroldinger.
Mae’n rhaid i’r tri cherddor ariannu eu teithiau eu hunain i ymddangos gyda’r Band, fodd bynnag, mae’r gost hon wedi’i lleihau rhywfaint, diolch i roddion hael gan; Cymdeithas Bandiau Pres Gorllewin Cymru, BBA De-ddwyrain Cymru a Chyfeillion Band Pres Ieuenctid Cenedlaethol Cymru.
Yn ogystal, bydd Band Pres Cymru yn cael ei gynrychioli yn y Pencampwriaethau Ewropeaidd, gan gynrychiolydd Cymdeithas Bandiau Pres Ewropeaidd Cymru a Rheolwr Cyffredinol Bandiau Pres Cymru, Graham Howe. Bydd Graham yn mynychu amryw o gyfarfodydd a gweithgareddau yn ystod y Pencampwriaethau, ac mae’n rhaid iddo ef hefyd dalu ei gostau teithio ei hun i fynychu’r digwyddiad ar ran bandiau Cymru.
